He started, like all the great modern racing drivers, in karting at age 7 where he began to learn the basic lessons in how to drive fast and effectively. Today Matthew is classed as one of Britain’s rising stars in motorsport, progressing into the prestigious Formula Ford Championship after a successful karting career. After just

his second race meeting he managed to get on the podium beating far more experienced racers under tricky conditions with rain and safety cars

making it far more challenging.

As far as the future is concerned much depends on backing from sponsorship. Motorsport is a very expensive sport and without the help of

companies giving support there is no way that even someone with huge potential like Matthew can make it in this industry.

	Matthew is currently racing with Unitec Motorsport in the Formula Ford 1600 National Championship, the goal to win as many races as he can, building up to the larger trophy races, such as the Formula Ford Festival towards the end of the season.
